980ti + PCIe NVMe SSD - GPU only using 4 PCIe Lanes?

So I built a new rig:

i7-7700K Processor o/c to 5.0
MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Motherboard
Corsair Hydro Series H100i V2 Extreme Liquid Cooler
Viper Patriot 2 x8gb DDR4 at 3733 mhz
Samsung SSD 960 EVO NVMe M.2 1TB
with my old Asus Strix 980ti

I noticed recently that my GPU is only using 4 PCIe lanes. I haven't noticed any issues with FPS in my games, but this seems really weird.

I currently have the 960 Evo in the M.2 #1 slot, which I know uses 4 lanes. Should I move this to the #2 M.2 Slot to free up additional PCIe lanes for the GPU? Do I need to disable something running on my Mobo that's taking up lanes? I'd be happy to post any more pics of additional info using that awesome program made by a user here... wish I could thank him by name.

Here is a jpg showing my PCIe lane info:

Any help with this would be massively appreciated. You people rock.

Bad mobo - replaced and fixed.
  2. Glad you found the problem. That was odd, I was going to say that maybe the other slot would use the pci-e lanes from the chipset rather than taking lanes from the CPU.
