I suggest borrowing a monitor and testing. If working, install Windows and the graphics driver, and then you can use the tv.

I'll see if that does it. Do you think it would have to do with a bad processor or graphics card.
  3. Let's firstly test with a monitor. If not working, I suggest connecting a case speaker to the motherboard and checking what beeps getting.
But I think that the monitor will solve the issue.

Would it be the hdmi that's causing the problem or the tv. I could possibly try another tv. I currently have a moniter but the wrong socket. What should i try

    Thanks
  5. What port available on the monitor?

I have a vga on monitor, and there's a dvi on graphics card
  7. If DVI-I, then you can use a DVI-I to VGA adapter.

    Alright, thanks

This is my first build, do you think my parts are good? I'm really new to all this.
  9. They are ok. You can look for some demos on https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=fx+4300+rx+460

All of my parts are brand new and just opened. So why are they failing?
  11. Have you tested the monitor?

Not yet, I'm getting the adapter later today. I'll try it then.
  13. Just tried with the monitor with dvi. Still black screen, ugh..

I just installed a system speaker, getting no beeps on startup.
  14. If starting the board with no RAMs are you getting any beeps?

    Yes, it beeps 3 repeatedly

I just tried my new asus strix rx 460 graphics card and still same thing. I don't think my graphics card is bad.
  16. If inserting single RAM module and starting the board, graphics card removed, what beeps getting?

Without graphics card in i get 1 long beep, then 2 short. I looked this up in the manual and it means that the graphics card is not seated right. I found a dvi to hdmi, that's what I used to connect to my tv. I'm getting a dvi to vga later today, that still could be the problem.

Could I get your phone number so I can text you, it will be much faster. Thanks
  18. Then CPU, board and RAM do work. And I'd say that the graphics card too. All that remains is the connection to monitor (not tv).
So, after getting the adapter, please post back. The adapter does work only with a DVI-I port (like in the link).
What's the exact model of the graphics card?
I'll try to answer as fast as possible.

    Well I now have 2,

    Asus Radeon rx 460
    Gigabyte Radeon rx 460
(The Asus one requires power, no big deal.)
  20. I'm afraid that both of them have a DVI-D port, and not DVI-I.In this case, a simple adapter DVI-D to VGA does not work. You'd need a converter. Can't you borrow a monitor with a DVI or HDMI port?

They both have a digital dvi, would that work, the dvi to hdmi worked, but it was still black. I'll see if I can borrow a monitor.
    Thanks
  22. No problem. If digital, then for transforming the signal to analog, you'd need a converter like https://www.amazon.com/gofanco-Pro-DVI-D-Active-Converter/dp/B00RWFT8NG

    Yeah, that should do it.

Can I use both my graphics cards so I get 8gbs. I don't know how that works.

    Thanks
  24. What's the exact model of the board?

  26. Then yes, you can Crossfire.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_Fw3_HcciU or look for similar for how to.

    Ohh that's what crossfire means.
    Thanks
  28. You're welcome. I suggest leaving though single graphics card installed, until system up and running.

Yeah, I can't afford both now, I was just seeing if I could upgrade.

I just saw this, my motherboard has the pcie 2.0. And both the graphics card that I have are 3.0. Would that make a big differance?
  31. No, It doesn't matter. Until getting a monitor with the right ports, i suggest not messing with the components (it might add to the problem, and not solve it).

Yeah, I'm not even home right now, I'm getting the new converter later.

    I hope this does it!

It's noon here. It's no big deal, I'll just stay up late this week!
  37. Thank you so much!!

It works now, I got the bios working and turns on with no beeps. The adapter worked.

    Thanks
