EVGA 850 PSU connections to an Asus X99 Deluxe II mobo

The cables that came with this PSU has an 8 pin connector labeled CPU and then that splits into two four pin connectors but the mobo has a socket that says CPU and has eight pins-so which end of the cable goes where-the manual is not good at explaining things and any help would be appreciated-Do the two four pin connectors go into the eight pin connector on the mobo? Not sure-Thanks for the help

  1. The 4+4 goes in the board. The 8pin goes in the psu.

okay thanks because the board also had two psu connections for like overclocking so the one I am interested in had the eight pins all together on the plug on the mobo labeled EATX12-1 so put both the four pins into that together, correct? Thanks for the advice.
  3. It should be that plug above the top heat spreader. It is an 8 pin hole. Those 4+4 should fit together in there. If not, you're not using the right plug. Don't just cram the pins in either, check the shapes to verify the right hole patterns.

Your Asus X99 Deluxe II motherboard comes with 2 sets of power: one is a 4+4 (or 8) pin and one is a 4 pin

Your EVGA 850 PSU should be supplied with 2 EPS 4+4 pin cables (possibly marked "CPU"). You will connect the solid 8pin ends of these cables to the PSU marked "CPU1" and "CPU2/VGA5" (its right beside each other on the top row). You will then connect the other ends of these cables (the ends that split into 4+4) to your MB socket as illustrated above. One cable will plug both splits (both the 4+4 pin), one cable will plug only one of the split (4 pin).
  5. Please select that as the best answer if that's what works. I tried to research and didn't see the second 4pin slot. Appreciate the clarification raisonjohn.

okay-wasn't sure if you could use two 4 pins together to get that configuration instead of one solid connector but I will do that-thanks
