my graphics card doesn't fit into the motherboard

i have just got my first pc and have encountered problems building it. namely, that the graphics card does not fit into the motherboard slot. the case seems to get in the way and so i cannot put it in.

i am using a gtx 1050, an asrock h110m-hds motherboard, and the thermaltake core v1 case

can anybody help?

More about graphics card fit motherboard
  1. Are you sure you're plugging it into the right PCI-e slot? the lower one towards the end of the board is the x16 slot and should fit your 1050 perfectly.

Also, even though I don't think this is the case, make sure you're not trying to plug it into the RAM slot.

i have watched a youtube tutorial and got the ram in place, but the graphics card is too big to fit into the case. i have also seen the alignment of the card and it should fit, but the card wont.

i can send pictures if needed
  3. Did you pull out the pin to place the card in the motherboard?

    which pin?

i saw a plastic cover over the slot to put the card into the motherboard with and pulled that off, but the problem is that the case gets in the way when i try to align the card into the slot. i cant get the card into positions to put into the motherboard.
  5. You need to post some pics mate so we can see what the problem is.

You can't attach them directly, you first need to upload them to a photo sharing site and then post the link (BB code). I use http://imgur.com/

By pin he means little lever on the right side of the slot, try pushing it down then plugging in the card.

You have removed the pci slot covers ???
If not , there is a plastic block at the back of the case , squeeze it together top to bottom , it will pull out giving you access to the slot cover screws.
Undo them , pull the covers out.
