  1. From the specs on Acer's site, that system has a 200 watt power supply, it will not come close to powering a 1060 card. You will need a new power supply also.

This is good one and has a rebate now https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16817151119

You may not need a new motherboard, measure the free space around the slot, it may fit the card fine. You should do a BIOS update before installing the card.

Is the limiting factor the motherboard or the case? Or is something behind the PCIe slot on the motherboard that would be in the way? And the side also where the fans would be?

You may want to just strip the parts from the case fully and install it into a standard case along with a new motherboard. So yank the CPU, RAM, etc...

You will need to reinstall Windows on the new motherboard also.

This is a good board for your CPU https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131991&cm_re=lga_1150-_-13-131-991-_-Product
