Minimum requirement vs recommended requirement game-debate.com

When I check if my cpu, gpu and ram will run a game(GTA v for example), it gives me two outputs, one rexommended requirement, and one minimum requirement. What is the difference between these two?
Processor amd a8 7600, gpu sapphire radeon R7 250 1gb crossfire, ram 8g(4x2).

When I choose the minimum settings, my cpu shows 129% for 100%, etc. What does this mean?

  1. The minimum requirement means that in their testing and estimation, the listed hardware is the weakest they found that can run the program smoothly on low settings. Recommended requirements is the hardware that they found to be the "sweet spot" for running the program smoothly will most or all the graphical effects turned on.

But keep in mind that many times the minimum CPU is not very accurate. For example, Forza Horizon 3 has a minimum CPU requirement of a i7-3820, yet it runs perfect on my i7-950.
  2. minimum requirement will let you run the game but it would not look good and may have a lot of slowdown depending on what is going on in the game. if you meet the recommended requirements then you would be able to run the game with all the eye candy at a smooth speed depending on what is going on in the game. its hard to say with your specs if GTA V would be playable .

So on game-debate, if my rig is more the the minimum, I can play the game smoothly?

maybe, but only at the lowest settings which will not make it look the best

I you are above the minimum, then yes, you should be able to play it smoothly, and if you are a fair amount over the minimum, you can play with turning up some of the settings to see how high you can put them without it becoming "choppy"
