What is the workload limit for Samsung 850 EVO?

I have a Windows 10 installed as a bootable drive on a 2.5" Samsung 850 EVO as an external drive (through a USB C 3.1 GEN 1 5Gbps connection). I did it just a week ago.

I have installed many games on it since. But recently, it keeps disconnecting despite it being very stationary. It's an SSD, so I can imagine no moving parts, nor am I shifting it around. It's to a point where it keeps disconnecting when I'm during intensive workload like gaming or running simulations. Now, I'd have to reinitialise it as a Windows 10 To Go.

Does anyone know why is that so? Could my USB interface be bottlenecking all processes that it shut down? Or that it is not supplying enough power to power the SSD during heavy workloads?
