Is GTX 1050 worth upgrading from 750Ti?

In September my GTX 750 died, so I bought another one, 750Ti this time because I found one on sale, then a month later the 10 series GPUs were released, I didn't pay a lot of attention to them until a week ago, I looked at the 1050's specs and I found out that 1050 costs almost the same as GTX 750Ti now, is it worth selling my GTX 750Ti and buy a GTX 1050? I know people will propably say that I should just get a 1070 or 1080 but I don't have that much money to spend on a GPU.

  1. I wouldn't say people will say that, but I will suggest getting that 1050 Ti which is about $30 more. It offers two more GB of VRAM, it's a bit faster, and should be able to handle new games at low to medium settings in 1080p. you will definitely see an improvement over the 750 Ti.
  2. if your budget is limited then why not look into what amd has to offer ?
  3. If you are happy with the performance I recommend using it until something new comes up later next year.

    You can run a 1050 , 1050ti or a 1060 6GB , your specs and PSU can handle them.
  7. My opinion is it's not 'worth it' unless the new card gives you features and/or performance that you need AND don't currently have. So, assuming you got a 1050, what would you gain? If you can't specifically say what you stand to gain, then it's not worth it.
