Overclocking msi 970 gaming motherboard amd fx 8350
Hey, can someone help me with overclocking my fx 8350 CPU on the msi 970 gaming motherboard. I have a coolermaster tx3 CPU cooler so keep that in mind. Please be specific on what exact settings to change in the bios. Thank you guys so much for helping me!
Your motherboard isn't the best overclocking board as it's a 6+2 power design meaning it's VRM's aren't the best, as I can see people have complained about the temps of the motherboard itself and the CPU when overclocking on this board, and combined with your CPU cooler it's not anywhere near that good of a cooler, I'd say you could get maybe up to 4.4 ghz so a 10% overclock with your specs if you are lucky. I've never used your board but to overclock you need to enter your bios (turn off pc turn it back on spam f2 or delete key) those are usually the keys, look into your manual or look at bootup to see what the key is. Then you should enter advanced settings in the bios or anything that might mention overclock, and set the frequency of your CPU to 4.4 (it should be a 1 to 100 ratio so every +1 you put in should be 100mhz extra. and set your CPU voltages to 1.35 at least try 1.35 first you may need more its all depending on how lucky you are it all depends on how good the quality of the silicone substrate is.
Note: If you are brand new to overclocking and have no idea what you are doing in your bios try to follow this guide a bit (remember your cpu is a bit different then the one in this video but not by much. This will just help you get a general Idea of what you need to do https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXTzVbFA_jU
