New PC; works; freezes; turns off and on repeatedly after reboot

Hello,

New PC today runs for a while with no problem. Then after a some time, will freeze/lock-up where power button needs to be held to reboot it. Then it doesn't POST. Only powers on, then off repeatedly with nothing going to monitor.

First happened this morning. Took it all apart. Eventually it rebooted after moving the RAM around. Put it all back together. Ran for a couple of hours; now doing it again.

Suggestions? Can RAM work "sometimes"? Is a faulty CPU more likely?

All of the parts are brand new.

Thank you!

Did you buy it as a system, or build it?

Try one stick at a time. See if it does the same thing. Or get memtest and test the ram

Thank you for your help. I built it. I'll try to get it to boot with one stick. Trying a single stick in different slots wasn't helping earlier, until all of sudden it did.
  3. Took 1 stick out, and it booted. Ran memtest and it passed. Swapped sticks and it wouldn't boot (I'm sure I did this all earlier....). Can brand new ram be bad out of the box?
  4. Yup even a mobo can be faulty out of the box

What memtest did you run?? The windows one is useless. Its too short
