Hard drive with mobo swap?

Now with Windows 10, are there any details I need to remove or uninstall on the hard drive - if I'm swapping amd mobo & processor into intel.
It can't just be as easy as, just unplug and plug back in right?

  1. Its not.

    You should re-install Windows 10.

SOMETIMES it will work, sometimes it will even work well, however there is no guarantees or proven methods. A fresh install is the only way to guarantee best performance.

2 considerations - Operation and Licensing.

Operation: It may or may not boot up with the new hardware. Prepare for if you need to do a full reinstall.
Anyone that says "it always works" is blowing uninformed smoke.
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
Especially if changing from AMD to Intel.

Licensing - Whether a clean install or not, it will almost certainly not be activated with the new hardware.
Before you change anything, read and do this first: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-3164428/windows-build-1607-activation.html

This links the OS license to your Microsoft account, instead of specific hardware.
