More about hdmi vga graphics card monitor work
  1. Yes but you will need an active adapter that converts analog to digital like this below. Pascel cards no longer natively support analog signals like VGA, so any old adapter wont work.

    https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Matters-Active-Adapter-Micro-USB/dp/B007SM7O2U
  2. How about this: http://www.amazon.in/HDMI-VGA-Converter-Adapter-Power-Free/dp/B01BOVMDTO/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1480771893&sr=8-4&keywords=hdmi+to+vga+active

If not like a tech store in India you can buy from and I will see if they have it.

Well it says it is and the two people who bought did not seem to have a problem with it.

The issue I see is that you are going from HDMI to VGA. Not a problem by itself but instead what the change means. It means the audio signal the HDMI cable carries will be lost. You will need to purchase PC speakers or headphones.

The adapter I linked has audio and even comes with an aux cord you just plug one end of the aux cord into the adapter then the other into the audio port on the computer.

    And tht's what I get for assuming:no:
  10. I don't see how ? d-sub [vga does not carry audio signals and video at the same time ] the converter nay and hdmi may but not through vga

    https://www.reddit.com/r/techsupport/comments/3zyu5a/does_vga_cable_carry_audio_signal/

no pin out unless they figured out a way to piggyback it ?? [how its done with dvi]

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector

you will want at least good 2.1 speakers anyway over the monitors/ tv speakers

Hey should I go with DisplayPort to VGA?? Or HDMI is OK?
  12. vga [d-sub] = analog only

dvi- ''I'' = analog and digital [4 pins around flat bar pin carries the analog signal]

dvi- ''D'' = digital only [no 4 pins around flat bar pin] ---- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Visual_Interface

    hdmi = digital only --- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI

display port = digital only [DisplayPort is backwards compatible with VGA, DVI and HDMI through the use of passive and active adapters]

this is why I bought a 900 series card cause it supports ''ME'' and all ''MY'' needs unlike the newer amd and now NVidia with there 10 series that don't and now '''YOU'' got to support it , so it back to newegg to buy more stuff to support your new card .

    good luck

You missed the 3.5mm audio out port on the converter. As you know, HDMI carries both audio and video. The converter converts the signals from digital to analog and separates them. The video output is sent to the VGA port. the audio output is sent to the 3.5mm audio output.

  14. he'll see how that works out as long as the monitors vga cable has the rca plug on it like on of my old HP monitors has the male jack built in to the d-sub see if the monitor don't have a jack like in the back your SOL

    example

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2m-Laptop-to-HD-LCD-LED-TV-15-pin-VGA-with-Audio-Cable-/380299388909?hash=item588b9c27ed%3Ag%3A-qIAAOSw0e9Uur1n

bottom line is unless he gets a card that supports his needs he's stuck buying and trying and hope it all works out in the end to make his new card work as he expects like I said reasons I passed on a 10 series and went 900 , it works out of the box for all my needs at no extra cost or hassle

    good luck

whats said here is good from ramhounds answer

    http://superuser.com/questions/445387/1920x1080-resolution-over-vga

look at your monitors manual under its specs and see what resolutions are supported

like this one with a vga only port up to 1280x 1024 so it cant do 1920x1080 for example

    https://www.manualslib.com/manual/547331/Acer-V176l.html?page=18#manual

I use Custom res for my display (1080p) but i see lines on my display even on native res when using the converter
  20. I guess try to test the card with another modern monitor ?? could be the card ? could be the cable ? could be the converter ? or get a card that has native analog on it like a older NVidia card with a DVI-I and see if it does the same ..

what is your monitor ?? can you give a screen shot of the lines your seeing ?

this is what I was getting at I use old monitors like older CRT with only vga and why I did not buy a 10 series card and went with the 900 series cause the 10 series cards do not support me ..

why pay 400$ for a card that cant do as much and the same priced older series that can ? ya, may get 15 fps more but at what cost to me ? new monitor crazy converters that ''may'' work . heck even with a 900 card I can still use it under windows XP

like I try to say to folks upgrading today hurts me way more then it helps and you got to look past all here hype and look hard at the facts

one of whats here like your issue ?

    http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph05236#AbT4

give your full system specs [ motherboard vid card os psu monitor and all ]

I don't get lines of this type but i see lines moving randomly , the lines have no colour

    I use
ZOTAC GTX 1050 Ti OC 4 GB
    Windows 10 64 bit
    i3-3220
    Gigabyte H61m-ds2 (rev.5)
    8gb ram ddr3
LG Flatron LCD VGA ( Not Digital)
    500w PSU

first off your motherboard may not fully support that newer card

now we need to know what revision it is

    (rev. 1.0) rev. 2.2 rev. 2.1 rev. 2.0 rev. 1.2

the rev1.0 don't seem to have a uefi bios that maybe required and its last bios was way back from 2012

    http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3970#bios

unlike the rev 2.2 that has a uefi bios and its latest is from 2014 and shows '' 2.Improve High-End Display card compatibility''

    http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4197#bios

so with that if your board is a rev 1.0 or a 1.2 you maybe S.O.L just to start and may not be able to fullu use a NVidia card over the 700 series in it ??

LG Flatron LCD ???? that have a model number ??

and then the icing on all the cake '' Windows 10 64 bit'' LOL good luck there as well NVidia has struggled with that malware call win 10 your on your own using it

funny how gigiabyet link I gave did not show a rev 5 but thiss one does [sorry]

    http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=5176#dl

rev 5 looks ok for that card but still from 2014 ? may still need a bios update from giga to support the latest 10 series over the one listed now ??
