Can this motherboard work with this graphics card?

Hey I was just wondering if the ASUS B150 PRO GAMING/AURA Motherboard is compatible with the Nividia GTX 1080 Becasue I'm wondering whether I should get this motherboard or not (By the way my current motherboard is the AMD 760G)

  1. Yes it will be compatible
But the question is which CPU you're planning to use

    I own a AMD FX(tm)-4300 Quad-Core Processor.
  3. yeah but you can't use that with a B150 Aura
so which CPU are you planning to use?

Could I instead choose a different motherboard? Because I plan on keeping my current CPU.

    How is this? (http://)
  6. when keeping your CPU it doesn't make any sense buying a 1080 as your CPU will limit the max FPS

also CPUs depend on a socket.
    all B150 / H170 / Z170 boards are LGA1151
    while your CPU is AM3+
so only AM3+ boards support your CPU

however I strongly advise to drop some cash on a new CPU
otherwise that GPU upgrade is just a waste of money

My only problem with buying a new CPU is that I'm worried about my computer overheating.
  8. new Intel CPUs are much cooler than the old AMD FX

What about the Intel Core i7-6700K 4.0 GHz Quad-Core Processor?

would go well with an Asus Z170 Pro Gaming or ROG Maximus, alternatively a Gigabyte Z170 UD5 or Gaming 5 Mainboard
    and the 1080 of course.

if cash is an issue, the i5-6600k would be fine as well

Ok thank you very much, and just ensuring the i7 also runs cooler than the AMD FX right?

the AMD FX is a 95W TPD CPU
    the i7 is 91W

but it comes without a cooler. so if you don't got a decent cooler, you need to buy one. like the Cryorig H7.

Thank you very much! I think that'll be all for now.
