More about hdd doesnt boot
  1. Sometimes you can take a separate installation and boot it, but sometimes it doesnt work, like your case. Just clean the drive and re-install.

So just restore the harddrive in my laptop and the plug it into my new pc and it should work right?

That is often the case, especially if that drive came out of a laptop. Double especially if it was an Intel laptop and going into an AMD desktop. There is no 'fix'.

You must do a full install of the OS while the drive is in the new PC.
