)? If "yes" would you please post a screenshot of what you see there?
Basically the situation is quite delicate. This is because it's really possible for the HDD to have sustained physical damage and if this is the case, the more you use the drive, the greater is the chance that it may completely fail. So basically it's up to you if you'd like to try the HDD with data recovery software: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/filerecovery/tp/free-file-recovery-programs.htm
and Ubuntu Live USB/DVD, to see if you'd be able to get to your files, or go straight for a data recovery company.
