Frame drops in games, low CPU and GPU usage

HI! I just got my FX-8150 overclocked to 4,6Ghz and I've been using it for a while now. This is my first AMD CPU and it works great.

BUT I have some strange framedrops when I play GTA V. I have everything on high. no MSAA, FXAA or anything like that. My CPU usage is around 40-60% and GPU usage is 70-90%
I have around 80fps sometimes, but some random times it drops all the way down to 30-45fps...

The usage is always at 40-60% on CPU and 70-90% on GPU.
Does someone know how to fix it?

  1. Monitor your temps and CPU/GPU frequencies, it is possible that one of your components is overheating, and to protect itself it throttles down its clock causing those fps drops until temps are "acceptable" again.

CPU at 55C and GPU at 60C
Disabled CPU to slow down at high temps in BIOS

You'll have to monitor your system while gaming with HWMonitor Pro (don't forget to enable its log feature), this way we'll get to see what exactly happens when you get those fps drops.
