More about gtx 750ti work 290watt 4150 ghz ram
  1. 290 watt is very low; I would recommend getting a decent power supply. My laptop uses 290 watts! (Its a beast)
  2. i used a PSU wattage calculator, and your load wattage will be around 223 watts, your PSU is fine for a GTX 750 ti
  3. jdaniel really its work

yes, BUT make sure it is a version that does not need 6-pin pcie cable from the motherboard
  5. What's your PSU's make and model?

The 750Ti doesn't need a 6 pin power connector but by the looks of how you've described your PSU, I wouldn't put one in. You're going to take a big risk there.

    most do, some do not
  7. my psu dell 290 watts 80 bronze
  8. i have a 350 watt PSU in my gaming build, and i have an xeon x5460, a GTX 750 ti OC'ed, and 8 GB of DDR3 RAM. it only consumes around 270 watts, but yours will use lower. so you're fine
  9. also, some 750's need a 6 pin power connector, like my gigabyte one, it refuses to boot if there's no PCI-e cable plugged in.
  10. Of course, the factory overclocked ones with multiple fans will need a 6 pin. I was referring to the 750 Tis' at stock speeds. Most don't need one, like my Asus. I guess Gigabyte is an exception.

I suppose your Dell PSU should be fine. Was yours an old Optiplex?

EDIT: OP, just make sure the 750Ti you're getting doesn't need a 6 pin, like maxalge said.

Assuming your machine is a dell optiplex or similar and that pau is one of dells proprietary units with an 8 pin motherboard connector you'll get away with a bus powered 750ti fine

A PSU upgrade is out of the question anyway , these units only supply 12v current & the 3.3/5v split is done by the board.
The bonus of this (if you can call it that) is that you have 260-270 12v wattage available for what is realistically only a 200w system even with a 750ti installed.
