Where does the R7 260X power cable go?

So.. Im pretty confused about the power supplies and stuff. The problem is that I have a R7 260X,
and it has a cable which has a 6 pin connector and the other end is a SATA cable (labels on it)

The 6 pin goes into the card, but I am confused at where should I plug in the SATA cable? I may sound like dumb, but please, theres just the cable that came with the card which has a SATA cable that has no place to go into.

The PC is a Optiplex 790 Mini Tower.

The PSU is the stock dell PSU of 265W.

I got 2 harddrives (if that helps)

I need help (possibly with images) as to where should I insert the sata cable into or should I buy a new PSU if that has a SATA port?

More about 260x power cable
  1. I'm afraid that 265W are not enough to power the pc with card installed.

you do not have the proper power supply to run a 260x

the psu itself should have the 6-pin coming from it

dont use adapters, you will blow that weak psu
  3. Thanks for the replies,

Can I ask if the power supply has to have a 6 ping coming from it self, then why the R7 260X came with cable? (6 pin and the other end of SATA.)

Also, if I buy this http://www.corsair.com/en/vs-seriestm-vs450-450-watt-power-supply

Will this be having the 6 pin connector?

And will the PSU fit in the machine? It should I think, the dimensions seem the same.

    Thanks again.

    Much better.
  5. Thanks alot, I tried connecting it with a free SATA cable I found, only using one optical drive so had one free, the card seems to be running fine, having been delivered nice wattage, no hot wires, the gpu itself seems cool on idle, I checked around and my idle temp is good enough. But to be risk free I'll try buying the PSU asap.

    Thanks.
