Help is needed with a pcie slot

So my motherboard ASROCK FM2A68M-HD+ I am having trouble with. So I was going to buy a graphics card but I realised that only my pcie 3.0 x16 can only be used with FM2+ CPUs (I have a A4 7300) could I still use a graphics card in this slot?

The card I want to get is the ASUS GTX 750ti OC

And I also have pcie 2.0 and 1.0 x1?
(Not x16 I think?)

  1. The FM2 socket is for your CPU, the PCIE slot located below the CPU socket is PCIE 3.0 x16 so you can put in that GTX 750 ti.

As a side note that GTX 750 ti will require a 6-pin connection from the PSU.

  3. no ik that but can I still run a graphics card in this slot even if my CPU isn't FM2+. or can I run this graphics card in the PCI 1.0 slot?
  4. Even if you only have a FM2 CPU it will still support the GPU @PCIE 2.0 which is fine, there's really no noticable difference between PCIE 3.0 & 2.0.

"PCIE 3.0 is only supported with FM2+ CPU. With FM2 CPU, it only supports PCIE 2.0."

  6. So it is a PCIe 2.0 x16 or is it a PCI 2.0 (non x16)? so I can still fit this graphics card in there?

The graphics card will fit into the slot but the specs doesn't specify if the slot is running at x16 or x8 but TBH that won't make a difference in gaming performance. Since it doesn't specify I'm guessing the slot will run at PCIE 2.0 x16. You won't know until you start gaming, if performance is around the same as the benchmarks/reviews then your all set, if not then the slot is not running at the required speed but I doubt you'll run into this.
