ASUS Sabertooth 990FX Windows 10 RAID 0 Issues

I have an ASUS Sabertooth 990FX motherboard (not R2) and I decided to retire my WD VelociRaptor 500GB hard drive and dive into the world of SSD. I got two Samsung 850 Evo's in 250GB and I want to set them up in RAID 0.

I installed the drives into SATA 1 and 2, changed my UEFI settings from ACHI to RAID, rebooted and CTRL+F'ed into array setup and got that all completed. I rebooted again and loaded into the Windows 10 install from an USB drive. This is where the problem begins.

I previously had put the RAID drivers from the motherboard recovery disk onto another USB drive and I attempted to use those drivers in the Windows installation to find my RAID array. However when I select them, the green process bar will go around a couple of times, then it will go back to the main page and say "We couldn't find any drives. To get a storage driver, click Load Driver."

I downloaded the most recent drivers from AMD for the SB950 chipset, those drivers do the same thing. I downloaded the RAID drivers for my motherboard from ASUS for Windows 7 (there are no Windows 10 RAID drivers for my motherboard) and those do not work either.

I'm at a loss now of what I could try next. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It is a known problem that SSDs in a boot RAID setup do not work on that AMD platform. I suggest using a single SSD or using hard disks in RAID.
  2. This is just me thinking out loud here, but what if I were to connect all three drives, set up my two SSDs in RAID, then boot from the Raptor (which already has Windows installed)? Would the RAID array be visible in Windows? If so, could I then clone the disk image from the Raptor to the RAID array, then remove the Raptor and boot from the array as it would have Windows and the respective drivers already loaded? Or am I going to run into the incompatibility with the AMD chipset again?
  3. So I tried what I mentioned in my previous comment and it didn't work out. Windows didn't even find the RAID array. So I ended up going to Best Buy and buying one 500GB Samsung 850 Evo and the two 250GB Samsung 850 Evos are now on auction on eBay.
