After installing i5-6600K my PC is stuttering in games and have high CPU usage.

Hello, I recently bought i5-6600k and now my games stutter (when I move my camera around or my mouse on options in menus it can drop from 150fps to 1-50fps)
I got my i5 on Asus Z170 "Pro Gaming" with HyperX DDR4 2400MHz 16GB (4x4)
Using an 980 and didn't have problems before with my FX-8350 cpu.
Did not do a fresh install of Windows 10 but have seen others with the same problem who did do a fresh install and that did not seem to do it for them.
This has not happened before, just happened after I put in those new parts.
Any tips?

More about installing 6600k stuttering games high cpu usage
  1. More info: I have reset CMOS, updated Chipset, BIOS and USB drivers, everything should be up-to-date and I have been doing some stuff in the Registry and other High Performance on power settings. When I put my mouse's Polling Rate from 1000 down to 125 it seemed to work but the FPS still drops when I move my mouse faster in Rocket League (menu).
Also on GTA V the ground seem to not load as it dissapears under me and it lags when I move the camera around.

If you swap mobo and CPU, you will need to reinstall windows. Otherwise you will run into all sorts of performance issues.
  3. Just freshly installed Windows 10, CPU usage is still quite high without nothing really running.
Ill be back with more information after restart.

    Hello,
having identical issues to you, and did not re install windows either. Everything seemed absolutely fine and I've been going several months since the swap with no issues OTHER then the stuttering when playing a game AND watching a YT vid on my 2nd monitor.

Did you have any luck re installing ?
