Can EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Superclocked 2GB Card fit into Dell optiplex 755?

I'm making a gaming rig when I noticed the card that I want to get - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814487024

Was PCI-E. 3.0 (not x16)
Will this be a problem? Or will only x16 cards work in it?

Also, whats the best card I would be able to fit inside the Dell Optiplex 755 DT?

I would also like to know a power supply that might fit with some modding to a Dell Optiplex 755 DT.

  1. That 2-slot wide card won't fit in a 755. http://en.community.dell.com/resized-image/__size/550x550/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/3515/755SLOT.JPG

This is one of the few single slot wide GTX 750 Ti that will fit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127836
The PCIe x16 slot in the Dell is fine.

But your 275W PSU is marginal for even the GTX 750 Ti. However, I have been using a GTX 750 Ti in my Optiplex 780 SFF with its 275W PSU for quite some time with no issues. So do so at your own risk.
  2. Will this PSU fit inside the DT version of a Optiplex 755?

First off, ignore everything I said above. I was thinking you had the mini tower. I see you actually have the desktop. It should be the 2nd from the left in this picture, correct?

Let's start over... Your case requires a low-profile design gfx card.
Open your case and see if this is your PC: http://www.mdmkomputery.pl/foto/4/produkty/621/1997.jpg

Your PC uses a proprietary design PSU. The one you listed and any other will not fit. You are stuck with what you have, I'm afraid.

Yeah that looks about right in comparison to my optiplex. DT version not Mini tower.

Good. Then the single slot MSI GTX 750 Ti will fit. But with a single +12V rail rated for only 16A, you may end up getting reboots or shutdowns when the card is maxed out. My Optiplex 780 SFF has a 17Amp +12V rail and has not given me any trouble. Unfortunately, there is no PSU upgrade for that PC. I suppose you could always force-fit one of the TFX model PSUs into the case and use it.

But if you want to be safe, I'd recommend you don't do more than one of these GT 730. But it has to be the DDR5, 64 bit model like these. The DDR3, 128 bit models are older and require more power.
