AMD FX-8350 & Hyper 212 EVO Temperatures

Hello, I just wanted to ask the community here on their opinion about my CPU temperature.

CPU: FX-8350
Cooler: Hyper 212 EVO with the fan that came with it.
Motherboard: Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
Thermal Paste: Arctic Silver 5
Paste Metod: Dot/Pea
Chassi: Cooler Master HAF 912 Adv. Limited Edit

Here is a picture of the HMW Monitor, been running it for maybe 1 hour now.

All components apart from the graphic card are about 2-3 years old. I've been gaming very hard all kind of games. My temps at the moment are around 50c-55c idle (which i find kinda high) and during quite heavy load (as we speak i got PS4 Remote Play going + Total War: Warhammer, teamspeak, firefox with twitch and lots of threads + Steam.) I'm between 63c-67c.

It's summer here, or nearly summer. Between 19c-25c usually this week, PC is standing next to the window in the sun a bit. Not much wind outside to pass through my room.

I link a picture how my intake and exhaust look. Point might worth mentioning is that the front of the chassi is facing my open window.

The fan of my Hyper 212 EVO is pushing the air upwards through the cooler towards the top exhaust.

Let me know what you people think about these temps please. And if you have any questions let me know and i'll do my best to answer them.

Thanks in advance

  1. My first suggestion is to use AMD Overdrive for monitoring temps.
  2. The Artic Silver 5 isn't the best thermal paste around. I prefer by far the Noctua NT-H1.

TIM type and make are last thing to worry about, that's only fine tuning, +/- few degrees. Furst point is to know exact temps at all conditions and HW Monitor is best used on Intel systems because it doesn't take AMD temp offsets into account.
  4. Indeed. Just added my post because OP mentioned the brand and how he applied it.
Waiting for the temps taken with AMD Overdrive.
Still, temps are weird, when you look at the drawing of the inside of the case. Fans positions seem good, and the cooler isn't bad at all (or so I've heard)
