  1. if your pc a few years old may need a bios update. on older mb with onboard video when a gpu is installed the port is turned off and you have to move the video cable to the gpu. if it a newer mb look for primany display in the bios set it tot peg/pci if there line that says muilt monitor support turn it on to turn both video chipset on.
  2. That's the problem the monitor detects that there is no display present but when I plugged in my older graphics card the pc was fully functional and working perfectly
  3. hardware of the mb??
  4. Are you on VGA by any chance? As far as i know the 9xx series doesn't output analog vga signal anymore.
  5. no im on a hdmi
  6. Did you connect the PCIE power cable from the pSU to the card?
  7. yep
  8. I just put back in the 960 and I turned it on and nothng showed up and then I put the older one in (the one ive been using) and I started it up and it says "Power supply surges detected during previous power on Asus Anti-Surge was triggered to proteet the system for unstable power supply unit
  9. you need to post your full component list mate or youre really not going to get a great deal of useful advise

no inherent issues with maxwell cards on that board (Im running a 970 on the same board myself & a 960 before it)

what psu are you using & what is your previous gpu model??
  12. the chlefmax 550 watt and a asus geforce gtx 650

you need a new psu mate plain & simple
in real world terms thats a 350w unit (336w 12v rail)

youll be maxing that out on boot with your components.

doesnt that card require both a 6 & a 8 pin power conncetion??
  14. so i should be ok with a higher wattage psu
  15. no it only requires a 6 pin
  16. also make sure you install the 2101 bios to rule out a bios bug.
