HWMonitor Wrong CPU Temperature Readings? CPU at 96C when it never goes above 55C in intense stress tests?

Hello all
Lately, I have noticed how inaccurate HWMonitor is. Is it just me or am I actually experiencing this. so last time, I left my computer alone to do some folding at home, and while the cpu is clocked at 4.5 GHz and 80% load, I see it appear as 507MHz min and 6552GHz Maximum.... and I have concluded its an inaccurate reading. As of today I was messing with my memory, I did a stability stress test to check stability. I left it to test for 45Min and I came back to see HW monitor reporting 96C temp for CPU at MAX, so is this another false reading? I understand that AMD CPUs are weird to temps, but this? and also usually I play cpu intensive games and tests it never will go above 55C? So I also under stand that if it did reach 96C I did majorly shorten its lifespan...
P.S. this is m signature build I am talking about.
if anyone could please inform me it would be greatly appreciated

Cheers.

Try this for monitoring: http://www.techspot.com/downloads/4645-amd-overdrive.html HW Monitor and others are not to be trusted with AMD systems.

Yea it usually doesn't happen unless it is idled or set on load for a long time. I've always thought it was inaccurate. Overdrive I have and I've seen and used and usually is correct. Thanks for the input.
