The E5-2696v3 is the OEM version for like dell, HP,etc, and the E5-2699v3 is identical with the E5-2696v3, but the E5-2699v3 is retail version.
So you can use http://pcpartpicker.com to find your MB and RAM.
    1) regular X99 like Asus X99-A you need the non-ecc ddr4 2133mhz.
    2) or the server MB, like Asus X99-E WS because you have only one cpu, you need the ECC ddr4 2133mhz RAM.

One more you need to the Full Tower case for the server MB.

  3. Because your cpu has the 145W TDP, the AIO H60 water cooler may or may not cooler the cpu.
Why? The Xeon E5-2696v3 has the max temp =76.4C. I found one old review H60 with Core i7 980X ( TDP130W) , if theCore i7 980X oc to 4.15ghz, the temp=72.5C, so I guess if you set to all cores run at high speed, like 3.6ghz, the temp will be over 76.4C. But just only guess, it may or may not be right.

You can install either win7 or win 10 in it. And recommend to buy something like NH-U9DXi4 http://www.amazon.com/Noctua-Cooler-LGA2011-Platforms-NH-U9DXi4/dp/B00E1JGFA0 or the h100.

  5. is it the same as fo Xeon E5-2696v4?
I can't find any MB (Gigabyte or Asus) that officially support that cpu.
I can find MB for 2695 and 2697 but not 2696.
I read that some MB burnt the cpu so I don't know what MB to get.
    Can any one assist?

    Hi you guys!
Can you help me and tell me what RAM you run on this setup with XEON e5 2696v3 on ASUS X99A mobo?
I am going to build similar setup but I do not know if RAM I need has to be ECC (my mobo of choice does not support it and I already have unbuffered hyperx).

    Thanks in advance.
