So now that pascal has arrived I was thinking about getting myself a gtx 1080, then it came to my mind the worry of my intel i5 4460 being a possible bottleneck, I really doubt it can be one but I need an expert in this. I know some will say that geting a i7 would be a better option, but honestly I dont need one, I just want a top end GPU, but if the CPU is a bottleneck I might have to think twice.

Solution
We can't know for sure yet, but generally speaking the 4460 might not let the GTX 1080 GPU get framerates as high as an i7-6700k overclocked could, but it will let the 1080 GPU get very close to those framerates.

Same with other setups like titan x with different CPU or cores disabled, etc. See the fourth chart for examples. With higher graphic settings in game the differences become smaller between CPU when running the same GPU. This is common for nearly any game.

But that would be like a 5 fps change right?

Something like that - here's another review you can look at. GTA V is very CPU dependent so you can see what happens when you use different CPU's. http://www.gamersnexus.net/game-bench/1911-gta-v-cpu-benchmark-4790k-3570k-9590-more. For games that are not as CPU dependent you may not see much difference at all.
