Upgrade Lenovo K430 CPU

Hey all,

I have a lenovo k430 tower I recently picked up for only 100$ This particular model came with an i5-3350p, 12gb of RAM and a little gt 620. I upgraded the Gpu to a Gtx 760 and the power supply to an evga 500b. However, I want to upgrade my cpu to an I5 3570k but im unsure if ill be able to because I cant find anything about the motherboard it has. All I know is its Lga 1155 and I want to beef this little thing up for one of my nephews. So will I be able to upgrade to the 3570k? Im worried about mobo compatibility issues. Thanks.

You dont need a i5 3570k, even if u upgrade you would only see about 5 - 10 fps difference. And i5 3570k version is the overclocking version, it is the unlocked version. Unless you plan on overclocking you wouldnt need the 'k' version. Tell me your how much you are planning on spending.

And by the way you can upgrade to the i5 3570k, its compatible. No compatibility issues would occur

Thanks for answering it, I actually have a spare 3570k from one of my old workstations so the spending for this would probably me minimal unless I go out and pick up a gtx 960 or something like that.

If u have a spare one then sure, go for it replace the cpu and upgrading your gpu from a 760 to 960 would show a great improvement in performance. When you buy a new gpu, first uninstall all the old drivers on the computer of the 760 and then shut down, replace the 760 with the 960, boot up, go to nvidia site and download and install the latest drivers. What is your budget for a new gpu?

I'd say I have a budget of about 150-170 dollars maybe 5 more in headroom

Okay for 175 dollars you can get a Zotac gtx 960.
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814500371&cm_re=gtx_970-_-14-500-371-_-Product

Now tht you have a 760 i would suggest you save up a bit more afford a better card like a gtx 970 because performance wise you will get more fps but gtx 960 is budget oriented gpu for 1080p gaming. Lets say after a few months you save up a bit more you can buy the gtx 970 which is the bang for the buck for 1080p gaming and offers more gpu ram for handling increased resolutions better for example like gta and assassins creed unity. So you dont need to upgrade your gpu now because the gtx 760 is a solid performer. Save up a bit more and get a gtx 970.
