Solved

My friend is looking for a PC that will run minecraft on 60fps and other games on medium settings without visible lag.

My friend is looking for a PC that will run minecraft on 60fps and other games on medium settings without visible lag(so it doesn't have to be 60fps exactly). His budget is £450 and he also needs a monitor for that price ( I know it's a low budget but hopefully he can get what he wants). He doesn't want to build it.

Thanks

  1. He wants a mid-range prebuilt with a monitor for 450 pounds? not going to happen He might be able to find a low end for that.

The only way he is going to get much of anything for that is building it himself.

What would it run Minecraft at?
  3. You might be able to do an APU build for that budget.

Here's an insane TNT 'lag test' showing you have to get pretty crazy in Minecraft to slow down an APU. Also worth noting, this person built with 2133 RAM which is the sweet spot for performance on an APU.

And depending on your monitor resolution, it should be good for medium settings at 1600x900 in most games, and it can support a decent video card upgrade later on.

    Ok thanks!

This is as close as I could get. Went over by 80 pounds, but it is complete. Includes a good APU, RAM, CD/DvD burner. Monitor and Windows. No cheap parts. The only thing I would consider adding is a better CPU cooler.

  7. * Note, Spec 03 case does not play nice with the Hyper 212 EVO cooler. You may want to get the Spec 02 case instead. that should work if you plan to get the better cooler later on.
