Hard drive started making loud noise when turning my PC on when i plugged it in SATA3 instead of SATA2

My hard drive is Seagate ST31000524AS 1TB

I saw on Speccy (program that shows pc specs) that my hard drive was plugged in SATA 2, so i decided to plug it in SATA 3 to get max speed.

Speccy showed info like this before plugging into SATA 3:

Max. Transfer Mode SATA III 6.0Gb/s
Used Transfer Mode SATA II 3.0Gb/s

Now after i switched it to SATA 3 it shows this:

Max. Transfer Mode SATA III 6.0Gb/s
Used Transfer Mode SATA III 6.0Gb/s

The problem is that it makes a loud noise when i turn on PC and the noise is decreasing for 5 minutes until the noise is gone. Is it normal? It never made noises like this on SATA 2

After i replug to SATA II again, the noises are gone.

A drive making new noises is never good.
If you are 100% sure this noise is from the HDD, you want to think about a replacement.

And its not a case of SATA II vs SATA III.

This came out only after the first launch after i swithed to sata 3

Still doesn't make a difference. The drive is still spinning at the same speed.

Just repluged to SATA 2 again and the noises are gone.

There is no reason I can see why that would make a difference.
  6. What sort of noise is it?

Loud carousing for a short time after turning pc on. After i launched not long time ago Orcs Must Die 2 i heard that noise and i decided to plug my hard drive back to sata 2 to avoid damage.

    The motherboard was pretty hot.

I'm also not sure which part is making such noise.

That's why I said initially - "If you are 100% sure this noise is from the HDD"
