Need help with cs go build

Hello i am upgrading from a macbook pro late 2007, i simply cant play games on that thing for much longer. I have two ways i could upgrade i think, unless you guys have any great ideas. The first is to build my own from scratch from pcpartpicker that would cost around 800-850 http://pcpartpicker.com/p/qjgNXL

Or my second option would be to buy some parts off craigslist
Intel Core i5-4670K Haswell Quad-Core 3.4 GHz
PowerColor Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-Bit GDDR5
GIGABYTE GA-Z87-D3HP LGA 1150 Intel Z87 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
1 x G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3
Kingston SSD 120GB
500GB HDD
Thermaltake Tough Power TP-750P 750W ATX 12V 2.3 & SSI EPS 12V 2.92 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Active PFC Power Supply
ZALMAN CNPS10X OPTIMA 120mm FSB (Fluid Shield Bearing) Shark's Fin Blade CPU Cooler
LIAN LI PC-7HX Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
a 23 inch Acer display
Microsoft SIDEWINDER X4 Keyboard
Logitech G9X Gaming Mouse Call of Duty: MW3 Edition

This would cost 550 and i would probally upgrade the monitor and case in the future.

I was wondering what you guys would recomend me to get. I play cs go at 1080p 144 fps incase any of you guys would like to put together a better build for me. Thanks for anyhelp.

More about build
  1. Those will both work very well on CSGO. The only thing is that if you are planning on playing other games, then choose your parts accordingly. Both cards will get over 200 fps easily

Would buying from craigslist be a bad idea?
  3. Im not sure because I've never used craigslist, but i would definitely buy from places like newegg or amazon or similar companies.
  4. That is waaaaaaaay overkill for CSGO. You can run that game on a potato, no need to a GTX 960 or even an i3. A GTX 950 will still score about 200fps at 1080p and leave some money in your pocket. I would also recommend you maybe go AMD on the CPU for this one. They have much better options for low-end gaming PCs. But these suggestions are if you want to buy new hardware.

Your best bet would likely be to buy used hardware. Try to find a Phenom X4 or Core 2 Quad as well as a GPU of similar spec to a 950, like a GTX 760 or 670 (or equivalent Radeon card). You shouldn't have to spend more than $300.
