Star Citizen fps troubles

I have a gtx 970 4gb, an i5 4690k, and 8 gigs of ram. I'm trying to run star citizen, and according to this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzOJYiQUw8Y (he has pretty similar specs) i should be getting at least 60 fps on what looks to be high settings. Currently I can barely get 30-40 fps on lowest settings, what the heck is up with my computer? (Drivers are up to date btw)

Have a look at your temps and system usage on task manager, you might have an app that is eating memory. Is it only star citizen that you are having trouble with?
  2. same screen resolution as the youtuber?

    Update:
And I never trust anything on youtube.

The youtubers cpu is overclocked, that might make a difference though not the 20-30 fps you say you are losing.

According to this site though your fps seems to be about correct. Try overclocking a bit.
