Upgrading Gaming PC, what should i prioritize to upgrade first?

Hello Tomshardware.
I have a $1000 PC that i build last year and i would like to upgrade it as i got the money to spend on it. I game alot on it other than office work combined with few video editing, So here are my specs:
CPU: I7 4790K Cooled by Corsair H60 Cooling
Ram: 2x4 Hyperx 8GB Ram
Case: NZXT H440
GPU: Nvidia Gtx 660
Power Supply: Cooler master V-650W PSU (Just installed it yesterday)
HDD: 3TB Seagate Hard drive
SSD: None
Motherboard: MSI Z97 G45 Gaming Motherboard
Monitor: 20" Acer Monitor (I know what your thinking... Its not even 1080P)

I'm currently looking at either getting an SSD or another 8GB of ram or Get a new GPU or upgrade CPU cooling to air cooler or get a new monitor. Please help me pritorize them in an upgrade order and make suggestions. I have about $400left to upgrade this PC.

Thank you for reading. Please let me know soon.

  1. I have the same motherboard and CPU, those are good. 8GB of RAM, good. Get a new GPU 100%. Also, try to invest in an SSD. That's all you need.

    Get a GTX 970 and a 250GB Samsung 850 SSD. Around 400 dollars.

    After that, new monitor.

  5. The most prioritized upgrades would be to upgrade GPU. A GTX 970 seems to be the best GPU for price / performance currently. If you are video editing, it wouldn't hurt to upgrade to 16GB of RAM. There doesn't really seem to be anything else you would need to upgrade for now. A 700-750W PSU wouldn't hurt for wattage for future upgrades. The i7 4790K will last you a while, and so will the liquid cooler. The motherboard won't matter too much, so you won't need to upgrade that for a while.
    Have fun, and good luck!
