Games Crashing to Desktop no Error Message

GPU: EVGA GTX670
PSU: Corsair RM650W
CPU: I5 3570K
MOBO: Asus z77 Sabertooth

I have RMA'd 2 GTX680 in the past due to artifacting issues (the second one was used for about 2 days).
While I waited, I have been using an old GPU Nvidia GT 230, and everything runs fine.
I just received the new RMA GPU, GTX 670.

However, CS Go and Fallout 4 have been crashing sporadically to the desktop with no error message, although NOT artifacting and freezing like the previous GTX680.

My suspicions is on the PSU interacting with the GPU's, since the most obvious difference i can spot between the GT 230 and the GTX670/80's is the GT230 not requiring any direct connection to the PSU.

I have been battling this problem for ages, any suggestions?

Tried Memtest already.
Doesn't seem to be a heating issue.
VLC has also crashed in the same way.

  1. What cooler are you using? Have you tried reapplying thermal paste? It could be the CPU overheating. Corsair PSU's are known to be somewhat cheaply made. My recommendation would be to buy a PSU from a vendor that offers returns, test out the PSU, and see if it works with that system. Try something from EVGA, Be Quiet, or Enermax

I'm not using any aftermarket cooler, I haven't. I'm going to try to get another crash and I'll post the temperatures.
I'll probably try something from EVGA then if all else fails.

Also while I was using VLC to watch a movie, it also crashed to desktop with no error message. Not sure on what this means.
