you can use up to 2TB hard drive without any problem, if you use 3TB or up and depends on the OS too, you need to format the hard drive to GPT format. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GUID_Partition_Table

  2. i have that mobo. i had issues using a hdd over 2tb as boot drives with windows 7 and various linux distros. with that said ssds are still fast even at 3gb/s.

cin19 pretty much nailed the specs spot on. though i would like to add that adding a graphics card will likely render the pci-e x1 slot useless and using a cpu above the fx-6300 is not recommended due to the power phase.

  4. Will this motherboard support hot swap? Installing Windows and Ubuntu got on my nerves. I am planning to get this(courtesy Amazon.in):

Syba SY-MRA55006 Tray Less Rack for Hard Drives (Black/White)
    or
ORICO Tool Free Internal Hard Driver Mounting Bracket Adapter
    or
    Orico 1105SS
    or
Mobile Rack for 3.5 inches SATA HDD - Open Frame.

The first one will bay my older HDD also.

  5. I do not remember exactly, but if I'm not mistaken i do believe this motherboard supports hot-swapping. I remember seeing and/or reading about settings for it in the bios when i was having an issue with gpt booting.
