  1. I looked at what's out there and grabbed a Hero (the Z87 and Z97 Hero's were the creme of the crop and the Z170 looks like it will follow in their tracks (Z87 and Z97 in sig),

I'm just waiting (not to patiently) for the release of GSkill's new Trident Z line of DDR4, depending on price want to go 32 GB of 3200 or 3400
  2. so... in your opinion, which should i take??
  3. The A and the Pro-Gamer are plenty for most people, I OC and use a multitude of components in testing, the Hero has better sound also
  4. SupremeFX is just realtek with software emulation isnt it, wouldnt Creative Sound on Gigabyte Gaming 7 be better??
  5. It's the Realtek 1150 and yes they've tweaked it quite a bit, I'm not an audiophile but like good sound when listening to music or watching TV as work, and I've found it to be pretty good, I used to stick sound cards in my rigs but haven't felt a need with the ROG mobos

Yeah, onboard sound is more than good enough for most if the end-users, I wouldnt put software emulation over hardware though, I think Creative 3D is as good as onboard sound gets atm.
  7. I went with the Hero and would again (and again, and .... ;) ) it's a great mobo
