Sapphire Radeon R9 380 Nitro 4GB vs. Asus Geforce GTX 960 Strix OC 4GB

I can get the
Sapphire Radeon R9 380 Nitro 4GB & the Asus Geforce GTX 960 Strix OC 4GB
for almost the same price .

I usually play ubisoft games such as assassin's creed ,ghost recon , splinter cell ,etc. at 1080p
I need to be able to play games at 1080p with playable frame rates...
but I haven't used a AMD graphics card before...
my concerns are that,
does the Radeon have driver support and game support etc ...
Does Nvidea Game works reduce AMD card's performance? and nVidea PhysX worth the sacrifece for AMD?

So which is better (performance is my priority...)?

Thanks !!!

  1. The 380 is a little better. The 4GB 960s are overpriced IMO
  2. The R9 380 is optimized for Win10 and DX12 (when games actually start using DX12). They have made an effort to do a better job with their drivers. On a side note, i have a R9 270, and I can play most games from a few years ago on Ultra, and new games on Very High/High, and I do that aiming for 60 fps.

I can't speak to Nvidia cards, as I've never had one, but I have never had a problem with my AMD.

Games optimized for nvidia GPU's will have an advantage on similar performing AMD GPU's. This is usual not much and can be neglected.

Nvidia physx I would not worry about at all, in the few games that you can actually use it usually you will see little to no difference in neither performance or visual quality.

I have both cards of the 2GB variety and the performance is pretty much the same but the 380 requires a lot more power to achieve that performance, 190w Vs the 960's 120w.
