GTX Titan on i5 2500 @3.7GHz

Hey guys, I need your help on this one. A friend of mine is selling a nearly unused GTX Titan for 450$. I was wondering if my i5 2500 would bottleneck it @1080p.

Thanks in advance!

  1. I think there would be a bottleneck that would be slightly noticeable depending on the settings. Depends on the game you're playing and how high you have specific areas.

    Sorry:
No, there wouldn't be a bottleneck. I read your post incorrectly xD

Here are some of the games I play:

    Splinter Cell: Blacklist
    Ghost Recon: Future Soldier
    Counter-Strike: Global Offensive
    GMOD
    HAWKEN
    BF3
    Planetside 2
    War Thunder

Would I get a noticeable bottleneck on any of these games @high settings?

A GTX Titan is not worth $450 as a gaming card. Factory overclocked GTX 780s are faster and you can get one used for around $200. The Titan is still a good workstation card though.

No bottleneck. Not even a little one.

If you want to spend that kind of money on a gaming card go with a GTX 970 or GTX 980 as both are faster than the Titan.

I am aware of the 970's and 980's, but in my country ( located in East Europe ) the cheapest 970's are around 425$ and the cheapest 980's are around 600$.
That's why I'm considering the Titan in the first place. And it still has 1.5 years of warranty!

Edit: After further checking the cheapest 970 is 480$, and I'm also on a set budget.
  5. Go titan then, a 970 isn't worth 480 dollars, thats 980 prices where i live. That is if a 780 or 780 ti isn't available used for cheaper.
