I am considering building a new PC, using some of the parts i already have, but buying a new processor and graphics card. I will be using things like my ram (6gb, but might upgrade to 8gb), my hard drive and others. At the minute, i have my eye on two processors and two graphics cards, but i dont know which to choose.

The Processors:
1. AMD FX6300 Black Edition 6 Core (3.5/4.1GHz)
2. AMD FX8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor (4.0/4.2GHz)
Option 1 is cheaper, but is it worth paying extra for two more cores?

The Graphics Cards:
1. AMD Sapphire Radeon R7 265 2GB
2. Nvidia Geforce GTX 750 Ti
They are both roughly around the same price, but i am not sure which is best.

This PC will be used to play games such as Battlefield and Grand Theft Auto, but which CPU and GPU should i buy?
Thanks in advance, Joel.

[EDIT] I am strongly considering going for processor 1, and graphics card 2, simply because of cost, but i am still seeking the expert advice from the experts of TomsHardware, and my opinion can be changed.

Solution
I would seriously reconsider that case choice. No case with an 80mm exhaust fan should ever be used with a modern gaming card. Also, the PSU that's going to come with that case is guaranteed to fail. I GUARANTEE it will fail with a gaming card. That case model is so obscure and old I've never even heard of it before, and I'm familiar with just about every brand out there, even regional brands like iBall in India. You do NOT want to spend your money on that. It might be cheap, but that's exactly what you're going to get. Cheap crap. And you'll be extremely lucky, if you do use it, if it doesn't destroy either your motherboard, graphics card, or something else. That's not hype. That's fact. Take a read just to familiarize yourself with...

The R7 265 is only slightly better graphically than the 750 Ti and according to Tom's Hierarchy chart for their to be a significant increase it needs to have 2 tiers higher in the chart. The 265 uses more power than the 750 and will be longer so it depends on the space in your tower and PSU. As for the CPU the FX8350 is the one I would pick, but again it uses more power and stock cooling is something i would not recommend since your GPU will be pumping warm air into your case. FX6300 95W vs FX 8350 125W both are AM3 + cores so as long as your Mobo supports them I would take 8350 but it will be hot.

Yeah you're cool on GTX 750ti (Remember to buy EVGA's as it doesn't include 6 pin power adapter it only powers via PCI 3.0) and AMD FX6300.Although FX8350 will be good to support GPU like 980ti or a high end grapihcs card.

Cheers!

How can i tell if my mobo will support them? I am currently using a Packard Bell iMedia S2185, which runs games, but not very well, which is why i am considering upgrading.
Do you know whether these parts will work in the tower of this PC? Obviously i will need a new PSU, but will i need a new mobo?

Actually the R7 265 shows an average of around 10 FPS better performance in almost every tested gaming title, as seen here:

http://www.anandtech.com/bench/product/1127?vs=1130

As to the processor, I'd take the best of both worlds route and either go with the FX-8320, which is less expensive then the 8350 but still has 8 cores and can easily be overclocked to the same speeds as any 8350 or 8370 can be in most cases, depending on whether you have a decent motherboard and cpu cooler. Or, go with the FX-6350 that is also cheaper but has a much higher clock speed than the 6300.

So you are suggesting the EVGA GTX 750 Ti, and the AMD FX6300? If so, will i need to buy a new motherboard to use both of these on? I am already going to need a new PSU, but i dont actually understand the need for different motherboards
Thanks for the reply!

I Think i know which processor and graphics card i would like, but i need to know now about my motherboard. I am currently using a Packard Bell iMedia S2185, which i can game on, but it only runs BF4 on all low at about 30fps, Do you reckon this pc can have the processor, graphics card and psu swapped out without any issues?
Thanks

Yes I am.On the contrary of course you to buy a motherboard that supports PCI.3.0 slot and AMD CPU socket.

Do you know of a cheap mobo then that supports these, i am trying to keep it as cheap as possible, as i have an apple mac for day to day use, and this new pc wil only be used a few times a week

I took a look at the iMedia S-2185 and I am really concerned about space and that the Mother board will not be sufficient.

Quoted from http://www.reevoo.com/p/packard-bell-imedia-s2185
*****************************************************************************
AMD processing
The iMedia S-2185 has an AMD Dual-Core E1-2500 APU at its heart, which makes it a great everyday home PC. The APU has the processor and graphics card on the same board, helping to save space and provide efficient computing. This is backed up by 4 GB of RAM which makes multitasking a speedy process.
With a 500 GB hard drive, you’ll be able to store all your favourite content, whether it’s films, music, photos or other files.
************************************************************************

I couldn't see the dimensions of the case so a Discrete card may not even fit. Also, due to it being the E1 2500 APU it may not be a AM3+ compatible board, actually i doubt very highly it is.

Looks to me that you will have to start from scratch. Case + board etc. :(

On the bright side you get to make what you want now..

In that case then, i might as well spend a bit more money on it, thanks for the help :)

PCI Express 2.0 is in Gigabyte (First link I send you) 48euros
PCI Express 3.0 is in ASUS (Second link I send you) 99$
I recommend buy gigabyte GTX 750ti requires PCI 3.0 but that won't be a problem plugging it in older slot that is PCI 2.0 (In gigabyte motherboard)

Thanks for the help! I have decided that i am going to build a whole new pc, but just take my RAM, Hard Drive, Disk Drive etc over and fit it into a new setup, due to what @Takasis007 has just pointed out. So i have got a few parts together that i will buy, these being:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-FD6300WMHKBOX-FX-6300-Processor-Edition/dp/B009O7YORK/ref=sr_1_1?tag=skim0x3152-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1413064839&sr=8-1&keywords=fx+6300
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IGQ4UX8?tag=gamenetw-21
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008V9959O/?tag=pcpapi-20
And a very cheap Case and PSU:

Right, okay, thankyou, i will swap out the gigabyte graphics card for the superclocked EVGA one, and it should be all fine with those parts i have listed? I will be buying a 650W or 750W PSU on top of this, and it all comes to about £300

I just have one last query, and then i am all fine, you sent me two motherboards, but werent clear on which to go with, the gigabyte one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-970A-DS3P-Motherboard-Socket-Express/dp/B00CX4MUCC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382885378&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte+GA-970A-DS3P
Or the Asus one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B008V9959O/?tag=pcpapi-20
So which do i go for?

Well, I think I am all sorted now, thanks to your help :D! I am going to go for these parts:
CPU: http://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-FD6300WMHKBOX-FX-6300-Processor-Edition/dp/B009O7YORK/ref=sr_1_1?tag=skim0x3152-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1413064839&sr=8-1&keywords=fx+6300
GPU: http://www.newegg.com/global/uk/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487024
MOBO: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gigabyte-970A-DS3P-Motherboard-Socket-Express/dp/B00CX4MUCC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382885378&sr=8-1&keywords=Gigabyte+GA-970A-DS3P
Case: http://internetct.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=217
But, i think i will take the 650W PSU, as a just in case, as it is only £3 more, and i would rather be on the safe side.
Thank you so much for your help, you have helped me go onto to build a new PC (if it all goes to plan ;))
