Lower score on firestrike after cpu overclock?

Hi, so recently I decided to overclock my cpu. After many mishaps I decided to leave my fx-8350 at 4.2 ghz after having some difficulties getting it higher and resolving to do that later. However when I decided to see how much improvement the overclock had had, I wound up with a remarkably lower score than i had before. After this slight overclock I wound up with a score of about 7600 (I dont quite remeber) wheres as before I had gotten a score of 9102. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  1. You probably are throttling because of heat.

I was wondering about that but I dont see how because my cpu stays around 57 degrees celsius at full load and my gpu is around 50 celsius

Get a program called CoreTemp and run the tests a few times successively, see if the CPU does throttle or not (It has a frequency meter on along with the temperature gauges)
