FX-8350 / M5A97 R2.0 First time overclocking problem.

Hello, I've tried overclocking my CPU today for first time.
My CPU is: FX 8350 (recently RMA'd, so this is brand new)
My Mobo is: Asus M5A97 R2.0

I tried setting multiplier to x22.5 to get 4.5 Ghz, but once PC booted up - system froze.
I wasn't sure what voltage to set here so I decided to lower down multiplier.

Then I dropped it to x21.0 multiplier, and got 4.2, when system boots it works fine.
Prime95 is running for 30 minutes now but core #8 failed after 15 minutes.
Core #4 failed after 25 minutes.
The other 6 cores are still running.
For x21 multiplier, core temp says VID is 1.375v ( I didn't change voltage much, I think I set offset only by like 0.05v as I don't quite understand voltages yet.

Temps are always under 30 C. (Corsair H100i)

  1. 1.375v is probably not enough for 4.5GHz on the FX 8350.

I had to use around 1.425v for mine.

Oh, I guess my motherboard can't go for 4.5 ghz.
It's max voltage can be set to only like 1.395v

    I just tried 4.5 ghz @ 1.38v , prime95 ran for 40 minutes then pc froze.
