Looking for AM3+ cooler that will also fit my case

I have a BitFenix Comrade Midi-Tower and a Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3P AMD Socket AM3+ Motherboard, and I would like to buy a cpu cooler for my AMD FX 3600 In the ~£30 range to replace the stock one. I was looking at Scythe Grand Kama Cross 2 but I fear that it is too big.

However, I'm not certain on some things and would like some help:
-I'm not sure what height of cooler would be suitable for this case. Should I manually measure from inside the case or is there another way to tell?
-Is it okay for a big/heavy coolers to be installed on this motherboard which is on it's side in the case? Would it cause stress for a heavy cooler to be left on it's side?

Another question: I recently installed an additional 4GB of DDR3 RAM into my computer from the 4 I originally had, so now I have 8 (The same model RAM). Do I put the two sticks in the same colour ram slot or in different colour slots? My computer says that there are 8GB installed and it found no errors when doing a RAM check.
Also, after I installed this RAM, I noticed that my cpu gets considerably hotter when under load, going up to 72 degrees occasionally, when before it only ever went up to 65. Is this a coincidence or does the RAM make my cpu hotter?
