Need Help figuring out the problem with my GPU

Hello,

Yesterday evening i noticed that my fps in all my games suddenly dropped by half of what they were, for example playing Elder Scrolls Online on High settings resulted in 50-60 fps in crowded cities and 100+ in the open areas like the wild but suddenly it dropped to 20-30 and 70 in open areas. I tried changing the settings to Low but it was still the same.

Dota 2' fps went down by half as well and Skyrim at Ultra Settings + High Resolution Pack became unplayable with fps as low as 10.

As for temp it has been around 60-70 degrees the past months. Is my GPU overheating? needs new thermal paste?

PSU is a Couger CMX 700w. I also did a complete re-install of Windows 7 to rule out software/virus issues.

Thank you

More about figuring problem gpu
  1. GPU temps are fine but check the CPU temps
  2. Post your complete and detailed build.

From bios, post the readings for your 12v, 5v and 3.3v power supply rail voltages.
  3. I'm on my way home i'd do those as soon as i get there.
  4. CPU: i5-3550
    Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V
    Mem: Corsair Vengeance 8GB
    GPU: EVGA GTX 570
    PSU: Cougar CMX 700w
    HDD: 500GB Seagate(Yes it's old i know)

    12v - 12.000v Usage
    5v - 5.040v
    3.3v - 3.328v

99% GPU usage whenever I play any game according to EVGA precision X.
  5. The voltages are OK

    CPU temp?
  6. CPU temp playing Skyrim on maximum setting was 49-54 degrees with major lag and very low fps, changing the graphical setting to low did not have any changes to the CPU temp although it completely removed the lag and the game was very smooth albeit so ugly on the eyes.

I guess it is indeed GPU related?
  7. Those temps are OK.

Download HWInfo and run Sensors. Game for 20 mins. Post the results - usually 3 screenshots in TinyPic or similar. To see clocks, voltages, temps etc.
  8. I cant seem to get the HWinfo to work, it gets stuck at checking intel management engine :(

I'm heading off to bed, please just post any other instructions you might have me do

Thank you very much for all the help.
