Samsung 850 Pro x2 in Raid 0 vs single drive performance

Currently have a Samsung 850 Pro 256GB and I was thinking about ordering a second one, set them up in a Raid 0 configuration and clean install Windows 7 on it. But before I take the leap and spend $200 on another drive.. is there really much of a real world performance increase? After reading around, I know it can double benchmark scores, but will I actually notice a difference in normal every day tasks like gaming, web browsing, etc? You guys think it's worth it?

Nope. Read this all the way through:

  2. Another SSD, for more SSD drive space, is fine. I have 3 in my main PC.
    RAID 0, not so fine.
  3. I'll second that; my personal opinion is to avoid RAID 0 unless you are benchmarking and don't care if you lose your data, or you have an application that is absolutely useless without the additional throughput.
  4. Thanks for the fast replies. Just saved me $200 plus shipping. Lol.
