i really need a full list so i can show him which hardware i need

  1. If your set on 4k gaming you are going to need a lot of money.
Despite what people claiming they have super man eyes, unless you have a huge screen like a projector or sit incredibly close to the monitor your not going to notice much difference between 1440p or even 1080p and 4k.
Also current hardware just isn't ready for 4k gaming unless your prepared to burn an awful lot of cash.
Get yourself a single GTX 980 or a pair of GTX 570's and game at 1440p/1080p and be happy.
From all reports you are better off spending money to get GSync capable monitor which gives a noticeable difference.

    Hey big spender!

Yes, that is enough, PC Gamer Magazine reported that they got to play GTA V in 4K at 60FPS, here is what they said the computer had

    "i7 5930k@3.50GHz, SLI GTX 980, 32GB of RAM and a 256GB SSD"

So there you go, that is the 60fps max settings 4k setup, I would suggest adding a 2 TB hdd to the computer, and of course, you will still need a motherboard, a case, and a power supply.

This build will allow you to play and maybe even stream any game at 4K, even 5K at ultra 60+ FPS and is $71 over $4000. Not the most practical, but if you're going to get the best, get the best! You'll be kicking yourself if you don't. Imagine buying a V8 car (GTX980) but knowing there's a supercharged version (Titan X) You had the money but you chose the 980, you'll regret it if you had the cash

Imagine you bought the supercharged V8 (Titan X) and your zooming around at 121 fps,Then all of a sudden you notice the V8 (980) you just burnt off at the lights that cost half as much which you were considering until you saw the supercharged model is still right next to you going 120 fps in the drag race.
My god now you feel like an idiot.
You see the V8 (980) again and think this time will be different. You line up at the lights and floor it when the light goes green. He disappears, leaving you in a smoky haze, Shit he is now a W16 (SLI) for the same cost as your supercharged V8.
Now you feel like an imbecile.

OP has money for a Titan X. If he wants the best then let him get the best. No need to be such a dick about it

  7. I'm not being a dick about it mate.
I'm simply trying to help him make a good choice.
Just because he can afford Titans doesn't mean he should get them.
They are terrible value for money. He can get almost identical performance for half the cost with GTX 980's.
Many people would say buying more that GTX 970's is not good value but he has the money to spend so sure bump up to 980's.
Save the extra money and upgrade those graphics cards in a year or two to the replacements for the 980's and have top level performance for 4-5 years instead of 1-2 for the same money.
He doesn't mention doing 3D rendering/modelling, just gaming, removing any real advantage of the Titan.
