Blue screen, attempted to fix it, after restart monitor went to sleep. I have a dead computer. Any suggestions?

I was downloading software when the computer went to a blue screen. I had downloaded this product before on a different computer, so I know it is safe. I started the computer again and the monitor went to sleep. I switched this monitor to another computer and it works fine, so it's not the monitor. I also changed cmos battery and switched bios, waited a few seconds and put it back to the original position. This made no difference, I still get message at startup no video and then it goes to sleep. I don't want to put a lot of money into this computer, as it has been idle for about 2 years.

Sounds like the PSU. do you have a known working PSU to swap in?

How you say that it is PSU issue?...
  3. A lot of systems have a motherboard video output, try that.
