Hard Drive is ticking and Mouse Lags + Speakers make squeaky noise

My 2TB Hard Drive is ticking every second or two and my Mouse Lags every time it ticks. My Speakers are also making a squeaky-crackling type noise.

I recently reformatted my Hard Drive because it was rather full. (In case you need to know, I have two partitions. One is for Windows, I have used about 100GB of this. The other is for games, I have used about 600GB of this.)

  1. If a HDD is ticking then it's most likely faulty.
Time to dig out your receipt and start the RMA process for a return if it's under warranty

Sadly this HDD came out of another computer and it has no labeling. I think I will just have to buy a new HDD.
  3. Save your data if it needs to be saved. If not, yeah you probably need to find your receipt for "proof of purchase", and then either RMA or buy a new drive. First tell us when you bought it, what model it is, and we'll go from there.
