transparent horizontal lines on monitor

i get transparent horizontal lines on my monitor when scrolling up and down on my computer monitor and i also get it when playing video games

is it possible its connected to the light bleed i have on my monitor that i have to send it in repairs for?

  1. Unless it's an expensive pro-level monitor, getting it repaired is not worthwhile, too expensive unless it's done under warranty.

    What make/model is it and do you have another monitor or PC/TV you can borrow to hook up to your PC to see if that has the same issue? Then you'll know if it's the monitor or if it's computer-related.

    its a asus vs248hp computer monitor and its covered under a 3 year warranty

    ill go ahead and try my old acer

    checked old acer monitor same problem so im guessing video card so is there anyhting i can do to fix it like re soldering the connections on the video card?
  3. No you can't fix by soldering as the heat will kill it completely, and it's probably not a soldering issue anyway. Could be the actual video chip.

    Still not 100% sure it is the graphics card, see if you can borrow one or cannibalise an old PC to get your hands on one so you can try it like you did with the monitor.

    Or just replace the video card with a new one and cross your fingers.

    i recorded a twitch stream at the 37 minute mark i see it at the very bottom of the screen but i i think i see it alot less on the video http://www.twitch.tv/josher_09/b/635611046
