RAM being extremely slow

A short while ago I bought myself some 2*8Gb 2400Mhz RAM sticks.
RAM: Kingston HyperX Savage DDR3-2400 DC 16GB

So, after running Novabench, i noticed something strange...

Apparently, my RAM is only running at 6.5GB/sec
compared to my brothers which run at 18.0GB/sec

CPU-Z says the following:

DDR3
16 GBytes
Dual channel
NB Frequency 2214.7

DRAM Frequency 805.4 MHz
FSB:DRAM: 1:4
CL Latency: 11 clocks
Cycle time: 28 clocks

I'm aware that 800MHz is 1600Mhz ram.
That shouldn't change speeds from 18.0GB/sec to 6.5GB/sec though.

My CPU is AMD 8150.
My Motherboard is FXA 990-UD5

I'd guess your brother has an Intel build? If so the MCs (memory controllers) in Intel CPUs are much better with handling DRAM, AMD CPUs have weak MCs comparatively. Also, big difference in the bandwidth between 1600 and 2400, timings also affect the performance as well as CR (command rate).Voltages also play in particularly DRAM and MC

I see, thanks a lot for your help!
Couldn't find anything on the internet, literally nothing about "gb/sec" speed, and since there were such a huge difference in speeds I assumed it was a software or hardware error.
  3. No worries, I wrote an article on the very subject of AMD vs Intel as far as how they use DRAM and the effectiveness of their MCs for Toms which is winding it's way through the editorial staffs now, hoping it gets published soon
