How do I enable the 3.0 USB ports?

My keyboard seems to be having difficulty connecting to my USB port. I can connect It to the 2.0 port without issue, but the 3.0 port causes windows to say "Device has malfunctioned".

  1. It's recommended to connect keyboard, mouse to USB 2.0 ports.
But, have you installed the USB 3.0 driver?

Is that in the motherboard drivers? Also, I only have two USB 2.0 ports on the front, and 6 USB 3.0 ports on the back. Can I still use the USB 3.0 ports for the mouse and keyboard?
  3. What motherboard using?
